I work with acrylic paint to convey the softness and gentle movement of flowers and nature in general. I use bold brush work, vivid color and fine details to add form and life to each subject. It is my goal to capture the magic of each season and infuse my work with the reverence I have for nature.
My inspiration comes from the transformative, beautiful moments that happen when I take the time to slow down and absorb the natural world around me. I feel deep satisfaction when tending to flowers in my small garden or arranging a colorful bouquet in a vase, and this drives me to create art.
I use acrylic paint (which has a short dry time compared with oil), but I use acrylic mediums mixed with the paint to extend the dry time. This allows me to create areas of soft, blended edges that are more typical of oil paintings.
