My paintings are created first by making my own encaustic medium, I then add pigments and while working off a hot plate paint and use a torch to fuse the layers down. Once the paintings are complete they are set in handmade wood frames.
I draw inspiration from time spent outside in nature, I absorb all those sensations, colors and feelings of time spent outdoors and bring that back to the studio and transfer that energy into my paintings.
In the process of making my artwork, bees are sometimes attracted to the scent and enter the studio making for an exciting morning.
