I make functional ceramics. While I do throw on the wheel, I primarily work with textured slabs. Using templates, I cut out pieces from the slab and then build them into the desired shape. Most of my work is fired in a cone 10 reduction gas kiln.
My inspiration is in the world I see around me. I look for texture and patterns everywhere. I want to bring this beauty into the forms that people use in their every day life.
I have hidden my pieces in locations around the country to be found by unsuspecting, observant people. Some of the people who have found my art drops have become regular customers.
