My work is more about the paint rather than just painstakingly copying every leaf or blade of grass in my paintings. I use a palette knife to apply thicker areas of striking color to create luminosity; a motif in my work.
My work is a compilation of things I see around me in everyday life. I look for the quiet moments in life such as the slight off color of the sky against intertwining street poles. I look for those simple things to create a sense of home or feeling of nostalgia.
All of my work is inspired by scenes from my hometown I have grown up in my whole life. So my paintings are a life journal in a way.
