It is more about the paint rather than just painstakingly copying every leaf or blade of grass in my paintings. I strive to enhance the color, light, and space of the scene with an inventive aspect added to my environments. I apply thicker areas of color to create luminosity; a motif in my work.
My work is inspired by the scenes I see in my everyday life. I look for the quiet moments such as the slight off color of the sky against intertwining street poles or the glowing tree tops at sunset. I look for those simple things to create a sense of home or feeling of nostalgia.
I get most of my painting ideas when I am walking my dog, Cinnamon! I am always snapping inspiration photos on our walks so she is a big help when I am in need of a new idea.
