Botanic themed acrylic and collage on deep gallery wrapped canvas or cradled board utilizing acrylic mediums and textural paint application for layering and dimensionality. My signature trees are characterized by vibrant colors and intricate details, many dots and nature inspired motifs.
The natural world is what inspires me most —leaves, flowers, rocks, and earthy elements—but the work I create is of my imagination. My signature dot work is intended to evoke a sense of illumination and magic...because I believe we all need a touch of magic in our lives.
Lots of people see my work and initially think it is mosaic or fabric, but it's actually many layers of acrylic paint and paper. People immediately notice the dimensionality created from hundreds of dots and want to touch it so, a few years ago, I made a special painting that people can touch.
