My paintings & drawings are derived from natural scenes in Bucks County & Hunterdon Co. NJ, especially local streams and the Delaware River, or from Long Beach Island, NJ. Work is done outdoors, on-site, over multiple sessions, or if photography, developed and printed in my studio darkroom.
A lifetime of deep study of Natural subjects, including birds, fish, insects, plants, waterways and how they interact to create a whole living entity. My aim is to infuse this into my Art so that it communicates to people a deeper understanding of the Fabric of Life as it relates to this region.
A sideline of my work is a series on insects and fish, as they've fascinated me since childhood. Children in particular are drawn to these small paintings and often pull their parents into my booth for a closer look.
