My Process

I work in oils on canvas; sketching directly onto the canvas with paint. I continue to work in layers that create more colors, textures, and details. My final look is realistic with a somewhat non-traditional slant in subject matter.

My Inspiration

My focus is on bringing the old and the forgotten to attention, to show appreciation for the overlooked places and things we see every day. I want my paintings to give viewers pause, to help them see what they may have overlooked in their own travels, to realize there's beauty in the ordinary.

Fun Facts

One of the best parts of painting buildings and street scenes is that I get the opportunity to travel to many interesting places, and in the process meet so many interesting people. I love when I'm photographing a building and someone approaches me to tell me their connections to that place.
