My work is a combination of wire weaving and traditional chainmaille techniques. I use both fine and sterling silver wire in many different gauges from 8-88 to handweave pieces. I have combined these organic designs with the structured element of the chainmaille I create. All links are handmade.
Classic architecture and both the Art Nouveau and Art Deco movements inspire me. I like the sinuous organic lines of the Nouveau period vs the symmetry of the Deco movement. I use the concept of layering my work to create depth and encourage people to take a closer look to see the details.
Moonflower Jewelry is the perfect name for my business. I am an avid gardener and have grown moonflowers for years that only bloom at night. My best work always comes to me at night when it is quiet all around. I get joy from my work and my beautiful moonflowers.
