Original work created in sterling & fine silver utilizing wire weaving and chainmaille techniques. I make all jump rings and use round or square wire ranging from 6 to 28 gauge. I build layers within the wire weaving to create depth and movement. Certain pieces are oxidized to highlight the detail.
My jewelry blends a love of architectural details with the fluid curves of Art Nouveau and the bold geometry of Art Deco movements. Each piece becomes a small, wearable work of art -where line form and movement echo the environment and design eras that inspire my style.
I create a new inspiration each year for a new design line. Two years ago I designed a line based on music and instruments. Last year it was the olive seashell which is the SC state shell. This year I am in the process of designing a series of wrought iron gates based on my time in Charleston.
