I dry and press flowers and use the petals to create different arrangements and designs varying from butterflies and birds to mosaics and mandalas. I use all natural botanical materials and never alter the colors. My work is colorful and often mistaken as paint until looked at closer to see flowers!
My love for bright colors and flowers keeps me constantly searching for new flowers to press in all colors and shapes. When I look at a bouquet, I don't just see flowers. I see different shapes and layers and of course butterfly wings.
Many flowers that I use are completely taken apart to be dried and then I put them back together to be framed. Sometimes these flowers, like a dahlia or peony, can have hundreds of petals to put back one by one. And sometimes petals form the same flower are used in more than 50 different pieces.
