My drawings are painstakingly hand drawn in black ink on paper. After studying my subject and sketching, I create form, depth and emotion by blending exquisite patterns, creating a jewel like quality. The magic is in the details.
I'm inspired by nature, by art of indigenous cultures from around the world, by old etchings, the Rennaisance Masters and contemporary doodle techniques. I use my years of studying art history and classical painting to influence my forms, but describe them with patterns in a fresh playful way.
A typical 8x10 drawing will take 30+ hours to complete.
