My artistic technique involves experimentation and manipulation of ink. Each artwork undergoes a unique and intricate process. By applying ink on a specially primed canvas and selectively removing it, I unveil the subjects and their emotional narratives. Most recently I have added colored ink.
My inspiration is primarily women and the human experience. I find inspiration in connecting with my viewers. I am also inspired by the beauty of nature. If it strikes me, I paint it. I cannot paint without an emotional spark, a spark I hope those who view my work feel as well.
My technique was an accident. I had been creating ink line drawings. My sleeve brushed through the painting leaving it a complete mess. In frustration, I spread the ink all over the canvas. Frustration subsided, I decided to use a subtractive painting technique to removed the ink to reveal subject.
