I work with my hands, porcelain clay and fresh leaves, capturing the perfected beauty of nature in time. The pieces are hand glazed via a multistep glazing process and fired in a gas kiln, where the unique atmosphere adds an indescribable magic. All dishes are food, dishwasher and microwave safe.
My inspiration is my very deep love of nature... my motivation is my obsession with leaves and clay! There is something about the longevity and lasting quality of the botanical imprints in clay which completely fascinates me; a moment of beauty captured in time.
I was taking pottery classes and had a piece of paper on my bulletin board for 5 years that said "press leaves into clay" before I pressed my first leaf. I honestly thought I heard angels singing after I pressed my first leaf... my life changed in that instant.
