My oil paintings could be described as "realistic impressionism". I paint human figures in narrative poses focusing on mood and story, using loose, splattering techniques for textural interest, and tighter, more traditional techniques to render the figure.
I love introspective paintings that focus on the use of light and color to convey a mood or a story. I like to think of my paintings as a single frame of a movie, telling the story of one moment.
I love using technology to create art. So lately I've been making physical paintings, purposefully using characteristics that arrive from the digital process : blurry "bokeh" lights from camera lens, long exposures for sweeping trails of light. Things we don't see with our natural eyes.
