When crafting my pottery, I throw nearly all my forms on the wheel; occasionally, I do roll slabs, draping them over various molds and handbuilding when the occasion calls for it. Bright glazes bring my distinct pieces to life. I work with various stonewares.
My biggest inspiration has to be the colors of nature. From the bright pastel of flower blossoms to the slate grey of a rock to the richness of a rolling wave, I love trying to bring a sense of those things that I love to my mugs, and people can take a bit of that joy home with them.
I throw everything in a small, colorful studio in my parents' house, and I love connecting my fingers to the clay. Times in the studio are precious, happy moments where I can tend to my craft and unwind from the anxieties troubling my life. Working on my pottery brings me great joy and purpose.
