My process begins with an acrylic-painted background. I then layer the surface with collage using hand-painted paper, along with various types of metal and nails to create nature- or people-inspired imagery. All materials are hand cut, the metal elements are attached by hand using an awl and hammer.
I am inspired by nature and people, using color and texture to explore these ideas. Collage and metal are primary materials in my work, allowing me to build imagery through layered processes and varied surfaces.
There’s a hands-on, almost meditative rhythm to my process—cutting, placing, and hammering each element one at a time.
