I work with contemporary and vintage tools to create evocative images mostly expressing feelings of joy and reverence for nature. My imagery is often minimalist, monochromatic (although not necessarily B&W), and peaceful in mood. I process all images myself and print all paper pieces in my studio.
My inspiration comes from a fascination with nature but also with art in general. I am fascinated with how to create feeling with as few elements as possible. I am also a big believer in what I call the everyday esthetic experiences we all can have if we stay aware of our emotions.
People look at my work and think I travel extensively, it's not true. The vast majority of my work has always been done close to my studio and now right on the small farm that my wife and I live on. It's all about making images that speak to larger concepts, not location.
