Process

I create uniquely colorful stoneware pottery with inscribed designs. Pieces are wheel-thrown, given my signature color treatment & freehand carved using sgraffito technique. I also work in henna and have combined the two art forms into what I call HennaPottery, which is both functional & decorative.

Inspiration

I'm inspired by shapes found in nature as well as motifs seen in henna designs from around the world. I enjoy experimenting with colors and how they interact to affect the mood of my creations. I hope to spread joy through my work, transforming ordinary objects into functional works of art.

Fun Facts

At my earlier shows my booth was divided in half with 2 signs, one for Henna and one for Pottery. All day long customers asked, "What is Henna Pottery?" I had to explain over and over that I simply forgot the "&". I decided it was a good name for my work and have called it "HennaPottery" ever since.
