Process

I work from personal reference photos in my studio and also en plein air. Many of my paintings are painted alla prima, and in one sitting. All of my paintings are oil, and I varnish them when they are dry. I do love to build up texture with thicker brushstrokes of paint.

Inspiration

I am inspired by the views around me. I love discovering interesting scenes to paint on my commute to work--I look for street signs and power lines that interest me. (...and gorgeous colors in the clouds often catch my eye!)

Fun Facts

Painting is so relaxing to me - it's almost like meditation.
