Process

I create oil paintings on canvas. I sketch rough ideas from my head, gather reference material, and build models. I complete a finished sketch and a color study. I then build the final painting in many layers using a variety of brushes and techniques.

Inspiration

There is something magical about fooling the eye into believing I have created the illusion of three dimensions on a two dimensional surface. I combine this idea with a surreal vision of animals and hopefully create a compelling thought provoking image.

All my daydreaming in high school really paid off.
