An intentional balance of precision and fluidity are how I've learned to maintain my creative spirit. You'll find me jumping from pottery to painting, and then book-binding to sculpting; thus, I don't limit myself to one medium. I find my work grows the most when I exercise both instincts in tandem.
I find inspiration in the earth's geological processes, its ever-changing landscapes, and the issue of sustainability in the ceramic arts. These ideas, along with much experimentation, lead me to create ceramic glazes from seemingly mundane rocks, plants, clays, and shells that I forage from nature.
I strive to keep a closed loop system in my studio by repurposing materials between my several chosen media. Off-cuts from book-binding get blended and turned into paper clay for ceramics, broken pottery is repurposed into fresh mosaics, and wood scraps become the canvases for my mini oil paintings.
