My art is produced using the process known as Lampworking. Solid glass is melted in a flame and then manipulated by sculpting, blowing and shaping. My preferred media is Borosilicate Glass but also work various types of glass. I also utilize other hot and cold working techniques to produce my art.
I have always loved science, nature and function. My art form and its techniques allow me to combine all of this together to create both fun and functional art. I am drawn to the sea and all its wonders, so much of my work is focused on ocean life.
Borosilicate glass which i use for my art is also used to make cookware, scientific apparatus, medical devices and a variety of other things we use every day. Its unique properties make it more resistant to thermal shock, provide chemical resistance and have great optical properties.
