joeyfivecents is a brand of storied jewelry and vintage style that features curated vintage paper imagery, resin, vintage findings and mixed metals. My work is one-of-a-kind and each design honors the original materials and the stories they tell.
I'm drawn to the imagery in very old books and ephemera but find that there's beauty in ALL of the details. The loose bindings and damaged pages with writing on them or pressed treasures inside creates a mystique about the previous owner(s) that I love to discover and explore in my work.
My one-of-a-kind belt buckles have grown to be fan favorites. They each feature unique vintage imagery, but the most popular designs are the ones that showcase original vintage book covers, in particular, the Western and Sci-fi themed covers. Sourcing the materials for these is the most fun!
