Needle felting is done by wrapping wool around a wire frame and securing it with a barbed needle. Layers are slowly built and the personality emerges, then colors and details are added last. Each piece takes thousands of pokes and several hours to create.
My work is inspired by the pure joy and delight experienced in every waking moment around dogs. Their expressions and silliness provide endless ideas for new work.
It takes an average of 20,000 needle pokes to make one dog!
